Its time to party......

The first Friday I was here I got to experience a Brazilian BBQ. Well it was not really a BBQ but maybe more like a cookout. Anyway it was a get together for this couples birthdays. There was lots of food, fun, and excitement. There were several people there that spoke English so I got to enjoy it also. There were lots of kids so they all had a fantastic time playing and staying up "late." But you could tell towards the end of the party it was way past their bedtime, a little more disobedience was involved. We all had a wonderful time and I got to experience something not like my culture. Im not saying it was weird or crazy or anything but it was just not like the way we do a cookout. We all usually cook the food, have a blessing, and everyone eats at the same time while enjoying everyones company.....well at this party they cook the meat and you eat as it gets done. As Joel says "You have to be like a vulture if you want to get any meat." The party was here at our house because the house Joel and Michawn are staying in has a great porch around the house and a grill area. Its the perfect set up for this type of party.

Hope you enjoy the pictures.

This is a...I guess you could say a community drink. Its kinda like a hot tea, but a little different. I got to try it, and it is not that bad, but I would'nt drink it all the time though, its just ok. It is more common in Southern Brazil than in the area I am in.

Eissa enjoying her some meat.

Pedro (the boy in the yellow) is trying to get a little camp fire going. Pedro was really great with the children, and he speaks English.

They were getting some meat or waiting on some to get finished cooking.

Cant have a party without any music!

Grady getting some meat, and dipping it in the corn mill looking stuff. Im not sure what that stuff was but it is just some type of extra seasoning.

Meat Preparation and Cooking!

Chowing down!

Cass enjoying the party too!

Eissa thought it was so funny when Michawn would blow the chicken to cool it off.

Sister love!

Still chowing down!

Eissa was not happy when Grady and Hadley got some coke and she didnt.

Eissa would just laugh so hard and smile so big when I would go up and down with her on my leg.

It was birthday cake time and those two thought it was for them.
